PROJECT MANAGEMENT

PROJECT MANAGEMENT - CASE STUDY

In 2022 I won a tender for a Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council tender to devise and produce four trail maps of Barnsley town centre to promote local businesses and encourage footfall.

I managed all aspects of the project, which was delivered on budget and ahead of schedule. This included securing an illustrator and additional copywriter and liaising between them, the participating venues and the Council and arranging print and delivery.

My pitch won based on quality and creativity. I proposed to work with Sheffield-based illustrator Lisa Maltby to create bespoke maps for each of the four themes: coffee shops, pubs, cocktail bars and arts and culture.

The maps needed to incorporate key landmarks and buildings, which Lisa individually illustrated, as well as devising a colour palette to tie them all together, while giving them their own-colour way to differentiate them. The maps were created as both folded maps and online pdf downloads and used for a food and drink festival event in Barnsley.
